Creative Blog Monday

Something a little bit different in a blog hop today.  I'm honored to be chosen by Dianne Sisneros to participate in this hop.  I love her work.  If you would like to view some of it you can check out her blog here Stampin' With Bee.

In addition to posting my project today, and introducing two other bloggers, (which we will get to later) there are four questions to answer that will give you some insight as to how I run my business and my motivation.  Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of the page.

I created a fun Birthday card using supplies from our New Occasions MIni.  I think the little creative part about it is I used our Fringe Scissors to "fringe" the DSP strip attached to the "Happy" the different colors fit perfect inline with the "scissors"  Wohoo.

Here's what I used to make the card:
Stampin' Up Idea Book and Catalog:
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantalope, and Whisper White
Ink: Tangelo Twist
Party Pennants Bigz L Die - #133732  $32.95
Fringe Scissors - #133325  $9.95
Punches:  1 3/4" Scallop Circle - #119854  $16.95   Banner - #133519  $12.95
Other: Big Shot, Paper Snips, Paper Cutter, Snail and Dimensionals
Occasions MIni:
Stamp Set: Crazy About You - #137137  $24.95
Thinlits Dies: Hello You - #137363  $24.95
Bundle these 2 together and save %15 - #138873  $42.25
DSPSpecialty:  Birthday Bash - #137783  $12.95
Other: Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim - 137910  $4.95

Here are the 4 questions and my answers:

What are you working on?

Right now I am working on Leadership swaps.  This is my first Leadership and am very excited to be able to go.

How does your work differ from others?

I watch my triplet grandsons a couple of days a week while my daughter works, and am also a "Go For" for my DH and son who run our family farm.  So for my fun time I stamp.  I've been a demo for 10 1/2 years and am slowly growing a downline.  I first started with a group of friends and each one took turns being the hostess each month and I still have that group.  Some have moved away and others have stopped, but we have picked up a few along the way.  I also hold a Stamp Camp every other month and run it for 2 days, Saturday and Sunday.  Along with 2 of my downline we have between 30 - 50 total stampers for the weekend.  I enjoy going out and having other workshops once in awhile too.

Why do you create what you do?

That's a very interesting question.  I have always loved to craft and create things.  And I guess the main reason why is because it makes me feel good to give something that I have made with my own two hands to someone that makes them happy.

How does your creative process work?

I sometimes will look at an object and think how can I recreate that with paper or other material.  I love making miniature things and altering or using recycled items.  I also love Pinterst and other demo blogs and sites where I can find something I like and turn it into my own by adding or taking away from it.  The card I made today started with a sample I saw from our Occasions mini.  If you are a new stamper our catalogs are a great inspiration to get started.

I hope you enjoy my project and my insights.

Now the names of the two new bloggers I have chosen and their blogs are:
Karen Woodard and her blog Stamping Paradise
Kristeen Wiggins and her blog Who Made Those

Be sure to check out last weeks blogger.   And my two new bloggers next week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Addicts Occasions Blog Hop Stop #4

Hello Stampin' Friends and welcome to Stampin' Addicts Occasions Blog Hop.  This Hop will run from January 16 - January18.  I love the new Occasions catalog.  So many beautiful and fun things to make.  The colors are so vibrant in the catalog.   It makes me think more of spring than winter and I don't know about you but I'm already so done with thinking about winter.  If you are following the Hop in order you have just arrived from Tanya's blog where she Wow'd us with some super cute projects using the "Wood You Be Mine" stamp set.  Didn't you just love her creative work!  There are 10 stops on the Hop so please be sure and check them all out.  All you have to do is hop around until you come back to the blog you started at.  Please leave a comment for us.  We love to hear what you think of our work.  The stamp set I chose to feature was "Hey Valentine".  It's such a fun set, and just right for making fun cards for little ones.
Here is a group shot of my project. Now let's look a little closer at each one.
I fell in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it.  Made me think of a show that my "Grandtrips"watch called "Bubble Guppies".  I thought it would make a fun easel card.
When I first saw this tag stamp I knew I had to make a Big #1 to put it on.
And here is what I used those cute little punched out hearts for.  I added them to the top of my box for a border.  This is my fun little open end box made with the Scallop Tag Topper punch for the back.  This idea came from a similar box that Holly made at Christmas time.  I just adapted it to fit my box of candy.
And that's my projects.  I hope you have enjoyed your stop here at my blog and now it's time to hop on over to Mary's blog and see the wonderful creations that she has made for us using the stamp set " From The Head".  Can't wait!  Thanks for stopping by and have a super creative day!

Stampin' Addicts Sale a Bration Blog Hop Stop #2

Hello and Happy New Year!  Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Sale a Bration Blog Hop 2015!  Are you in for a treat!  So many fun goodies showcased in the Hop that you can get FREE when you purchase $50 in Stampin' Up products.  WoHoo!  If you are following the Blog Hop in order then you have just come from Heidi's Blog "RunningwScissorsStamper" where she wowed us with her great work using the Best Day Ever Stamp Set.  Makes you want to get that set now doesn't it.  There are 10 stops on the Hop so I hope you will "hop" all the way around to the beginning so you can view them all.  This "Hop" will run from Friday, January 2 thru Sunday, January 4.  So let's get on to my projects that I'm super excited to show you.
I chose the Best Year Ever Accessories for my product to work with.  This FREE product includes a container of buttons and 3 spools of ribbon in Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, & Crushed Curry.  What fun Springy colors!
My first project I made was a card with matching envelope.  A clean and simple card using each color of ribbon.  Adding just a simply saying from one of the new Occasions sets called Painted Petals finishes the card.  A little ribbon and a button on an envelope to match and it's done.
My second project is a Button Bracelet.  I have wanted to make one for a while now, so this gave me the perfect opportunity to get it done.  I love how it turned out.  (Although I used most of my buttons) but never fear I can get more FREE! with my next order. lol  I did use some white buttons from our Neutrals Pack from the Big Stampin' Up! Catalog.  Adding a bow after I finished it.  Stampin' Jill has a great video on YouTube on how to make these fun bracelets.  (Check it out after the "Hop")
And so my last project was a little Tag for my gift box.  Tags are so fun to make and give a personal touch to any gift.  I first punched out a tag using our Note Tag Punch and then using Calypso Coral stamped the phrase and flower from the FREE SAB set Simply Wonderful on it.  I trimmed thin bits of Crushed Curry ribbon and threaded though my 2 buttons to give a fun look to them and glue dotted them to the tag.  I added a Coastal Cabana ribbon to my box to close it up, and there you have it!  I hope you have enjoyed my projects as much as I did making them for you.  Now it's time to "Hop" on over to Tina's Blog "Paper Art Garden" and see what wonderful projects she has made for us using the Project Life Mini Card Collection.  I can't wait!
