Inky Friends Autumn Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our Inky Friends Autumn Blog Hop featuring stamp sets from Stampin' Ups! new Occasions Mini.  This hop is full of great ideas on how to use the new stamp sets so please hop all the way around to view it all!  If at any time you get lost you can find your bearings at the main Inky Friends Blog.  If you are following the hop in order then you have just arrived from the very creative Mickey Roberts' Blog - Paper Conversation and her beautiful creations featuring the stamp set Painted Harvest.  Don't you just love fall.  The beautiful colors just can't help but make you happy.  The stamp set I chose to showcase was Gourd Goodness which is a 2 step stamp set.  A 2 step stamp set means there is a stamp that has more detail to it and one that has more complete shade to it but both are of the same image.  Hoping that makes since.  It is also a photopolymer stamp set.

Let's take a look at my projects.
For my first project I knew that I wanted to use the stamp with the pair of Pumpkins on it.  So here is my finished project.  For the pumpkins I used the stamp pads Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango.  I also wanted to use the Pinewood Planks emboss folder so I embossed Crumb Cake cardstock using it.  I added just a small stripe of the beautiful new Fall DSP called Printed Autumn.
It took awhile for my second project.  I really just wanted to stamp a few leaves in the color Crumb Cake for the background but it didn't look right.  So I kept on stamping and stamping actually because I was frustrated that I couldn't get it to look like I wanted, but then I really liked how it looked after it was completely stamp leaf over leaf.  Ha! Ha!  So anyway...The colors I used for this card wear Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, & Tangerine Tango.  I used the simple sentiment as my focal point die cutting it out with our Stitched Framelits and then a bigger square after that.  I used the 2 step leaf stamp and added a leaf to the side after fussy cutting it out.
Here's another shot of the card.  I will say it again, I love Fall and all the beautiful colors of the season.  At this time of year I always reflect back on what I am most thankful for in my life, including a loving God, a wonderful family and wonderful friends.
That's all the projects I have for you as I kept the boys longer yesterday than expected.  So we road in the combine with Papaw, shelled corn, shelled beans and hunted for more locust.  Whew!
Now it's time to hop on over to my stampin' friend Cindy Elam's Blog - Heart's Delight Cards and see the wonderful creations she has designed for us.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Happy Hopping!

Your projects are always so beautiful. Love the leaves that you stamped to make the background. At first I thought It was DSP. You are so talented. TFS

Twila, these are beautiful! Love the Pine Planks behind the pumpkins on the first card, and the leafy background in the second card was well worth your frustration ;)

Pretty background! Maybe you should say you invented a new technique "stamp stomping" or something like that -lol! Glad you had such a great time with the boys. My kids always loved combine rides with Grandpa-- one of the joys of Fall on a farm. Thankful for YOU, my friend!

Twila, I think all that leaf stamping was well worth the repetition! Gorgeous and the colored leaf on top is just perfect! The strip of DSP on the first card is an unexpected bonus of color that ties the whole together. Great projects!
