Altered K-mart Notebooks

Ok, I told you I'ld post them when we got them done so here they are! I had a total of 14 so we went ahead and did all of them. We already know which one we want if there are any leftovers. :) I hope the teenage girls from church enjoy them. I thought they turned out rather nice. It took me awhile to figure out how to get around the silver plate on the front, but I think I did a pretty good job.
I think this is my favorite.
...or maybe this one...
or this one...
Here's a back view, We covered the front, back and the insides.
By the way I don't know what happened to Spring, but yesterday we got over 2" of rain and today it's in the 30's and it's snowing! Yicks! Thankfully the ground is to warm for it to stick.

Spring Is Here!

This is a card I made using the Cheep Talk stamp set, the Big Shot, largest Scallop Circle die, and Stampin' Ups! new Circle Cutter.
Our pear tree is budding out. Hope it doesn't freeze tonight.

View out my window. It was a wonderful day to be outside!

Small barn where our kids used to keep their 4-H steers. Just had to post this one, because it brings back some fun memories. Hope everyone is having a nice week-end. Well I gotta go clean of my table. I've got some ladies coming over tomorrow to alter some of the notebooks I got at K-mart for the girls at church. We are going to make them prayer journals and pass them out at our Ladies Fellowship meeting this month. Come back next week and check them out.

Customer Appreciation Night

Thank you gifts for my customers.
Everyone who came received a little bag of goodies.

and if they RSVP'd the got this little something extra. There were 16 who attended and RSVP'd. I had 6 call and cancel the day of, wish they could have attended.

Here's one of the cards we made last night. My down-line Shannon came up with this one and I ask her if it was Ok if I CASE'd it for my event. Thanks Shannon! I just love this card.!

Then they all got to make a Big Shot purse. This version was a little easier because we did not add the extra circle to the lid. If you want to know what I'm talking about , scroll down to my first purse I did. They got to fill these with Easter Candy and of course Dove Chocolate!

This is another card I had them make. I got this idea from someone's blog and I'll have to see if I can find it. She said she got it from the back of one of our Stampin' Success Magazines. The last project I had them start was a SU Stampin' Up Punch Card set. These cards have all the different punches on them and the numbers. Got the template from SCS's. We did 4 cards last night and will do the other 4 another time. Then I plan on laminating the cards and putting them on a ring for my customers. It's a great tool to have! Well that's it for now, I've got to go be a "go-for" and get some anhydrous tanks for my son. We are starting to do some field work! So come back some time and stamp a little longer with me.

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

I just love Stampin' Up's punches! They are so fun to play with. Here's a couple of bunnies I made using the new scallop oval, small oval, 1 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle, and 1/4"square punches. I layered (2) 1/2" circles on top of each other to give the eyes some depth and cut the 1/4"square into triangles for the noses. I had a hard time drawing the mouth so on the bunny at the bottom I used a scallop circle (I had punched out) for a template, and traced two of the scallops for the mouth, which I thought turned out alot better! I'm thinking I'm on a roll, but I better go do some housework. Yuck!

Top Note Materials Swap

I'm so excited to be in a Top Note 50 Materials Swap for Demos on Split Coast. I chose 1/16" bass wood for my part of the swap. The Big Shot cut them out with no problem, didn't hurt my die at all. I can't wait to get all the different materials back and to make a ring to show my customers what all you can run through this machine! I need to go find some more stuff to run through that machine!!! Have a great day!

Rockabilly, Rocks!

Ok, here's what I did with some of the "finds" from K-mart. I love this DSP called Rockabilly, although I don't "love" skulls, I'm happy to say I love the rest of the paper and the other side of the skull paper. The small box is a coupon box, I think, which would also make a cute small tissue box. (I put the initial on the back of it.) This is going to be a hostess gift for a friend who will be having a party in a couple of months. I can't believe I've already got her gift done!!! Happy St. Paddy's Day! everyone. Come back soon so we can "stamp a little longer".

Bargain Shopping!!!

Look what I found today! Our local K-mart is going out of business and they had their stationary department on sale for 30% off and it was already on clearance! It's a good thing my DH wasn't with me because I cleaned them out of a few things. I love these journals and notebooks! They are perfect to alter or just stamp on. Check back tomorrow and see what I've done so far. Doin' the happy dance!!!

Happy Dance!

I am so excited! I had 2 ladies sign up to be demonstrators this past week! So that means I promoted to Senior Supervisor! Welcome, Laura Boatman and Kelly Wood to the wonderful world of Stampin' Up! Although these ladies are really good customers (which I hate to lose) I am so excited to be able to share my love of this company with them. Anyone else want to join them? It's a great time to join with the starter kit only being $169 plus another FREE set valued up to $48.98 and a FREE SAB set from me, it's a deal you can't pass up! Oh, and 30% off your first order, just think the Big Shot for 30% off! I've got to quit rambling and get off of here and clean up my stampin' mess. By the way, my TAXES are done! and in the mail, now to more important things like STAMPIN! Have a great day!

I've been playing some more...

I really need to be doing my taxes but playing with my stamps and paper is so much more FUN! This is made using the Sale-A-Bration DSP, Ribbon, and the Polka Dot Punches Stamp Set. I bought the tutorial for this cute project from Becky and you can find her blog in the next post down. Hope everyone has a good day. Now, I guess I'll go clean off my table and get the rest of my taxes done.

Big Shot Purse!!!

Isn't this the cutest thing you ever have seen! I am so excited about this little purse. I found the idea for it on Becky's blog. Check out her amazing blog to see where she got the idea and to see othe great projects she has made and some wonderful tutorials she has for sale on how to make them. I used the new Parsian Breeze DSP for my purse, along with Close to Cocoa and Baja Breeze. It takes 2 Top Note die cutes, 1 of the biggest scallop circle die cut and then I used the new circle cutter to make my other circle for the top. I used a Designer brad to finish it off.
Side view of purse.
The box on the inside is 3 1/4" x 1"x 2 1/2". You make it out of a piece of cardstock 5 1/4" x 6". Score it at 1" on both sides lengthwise and a 1" wide score though the middle width ways. You should be able to figure out were to cut your sides in from there and glue to form a box. If you have a BS give a try. It's really a fun little project to make. I'm going to use some of these for Hostess Gifts. Are you watching Sherri & Christi, because some of these are coming your way!!! Have a good day! If you looked at this post earlier in the day to get measurements, I've changed it for the inside box. It's right now. Sorry about that.

Just Buzzin' By

I think this is one of my favorite sets from the new catty! If you click on the picture and make it bigger you can kinda see the little black flowers I put on the card using the Trio Flower Punch. I also layered 3 black circles one on top of the other to add some depth to the little bee. Doesn't he just make you smile to look at him?

February Stamp-a-Stack

These are the projects I had for the ladies to do. Some of the ideas came from my side-lines and some from SCS. We had a total of 34 stampers. Everyone had a good time stamping.
These are the projects my friend who just happens to be a downline of mine had for everyone to make. Thanks for helping me out, Shannon! I thought we had a very good variety for the stampers to choose from.

Valentine card for my Aunt

Hello, sorry I've been gone for awhile, sometimes you just have to take a step back and that's what I did. I've got lots of cards and ideas to share with you in the next couple of days. But DH says I've got to work on taxes today, so I'll just share this one. It's a valentine I made for my Aunt who happens to be crazy about monkeys! When we were little she made sock monkeys for us and for our kids. I got the idea from SCS of course. I think this DSP is the closest thing I have seen when it comes to looking like the real sock monkey (except I should have made his butt red.) It's made using the Candy Lane DSP. Have a nice day everyone and come back and we'll stamp a little longer.

Sad Day

Hey everyone. I'm not having a very good day today. A very close friend of mine died early this morning. I'm going to miss her very much. She was always full of energy and would be the first person to jump in and help anyone that needed it. I know she is in a better place and doesn't hurt anymore, but I still really miss her.

It's been awhile...

View out my window.
I love living in the country!
Lots of snow!
This card is made using the sets A Happy Heart and the little set Sprinkles. The DSP is Raseberry Tart. Love all the SU DS Papers!!!

This card was super easy and used two SAB sets, Congrats and Polka Dot Punches. I just love the Sweet Always DSP! Don't you?

Hey all, sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. We've had about a foot of snow since I last posted. As you can see by the photos. I've posted a couple of cards we made last night at a workshop I had. I've got one more but I can't get it to look right. The battery in my new camera is already dead!!! and I'm not to happy about it! So I'm going to buy a rechargeable one so it won't happen again. Sorry if the pictures are kinda fuzzy. Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Fun in a Tin!

I got the idea for the card in a tin from the SU demo website from Catherine Harwood, one of the Valentine class winners. Although it takes awhile to make, it is just so cute and fun to make. I made one for a door prize at my retiring party last week. It's made using the Valentine Bundle. I did sell two of the bundles. The card was pretty much a case from NWstamper's gallery.

Tin opened up.

Close up of some of what's in it.

This is the cute card on a string that is in the tin. I just love it! I got a bunch of the tins from Creative Express.com last year super cheap! You ladies need to check out the Valentine Classes that are on the SU website. There are some really great ones from some talented demonstrators.

Shoebox Swap Cards from our Christmas Party!

This was Kelly Birrell's card we made and I have to say it was my favorite. Although I don't think I'll be demonstrating it at a workshop (it took forever to make) it was a great card! And I hate birds!!! Right, Kelly?
This was Tonya Steber"s card. I love the color combo! I need to use this set more often.

Lori Smith's card. Love everything about this one. I wish I had got my vines more even at the bottom, but maybe next time.

Amanda Shaffer's card. Great card and I love the black background, it really makes it POP!

Teri Herman's card. Another great card. I love how the sponged Close To Cocoa made the Certanily Celery looked aged. This is another one I'll have to remake. I didn't get my flowers stamped deep enough. May have to repost this one later after I redo mine.

Darla Cummin's card. I love everything about this one too. Love the color combo and the DSP from the Winter Mini. Who would have thought about using it!

Brenda Dellinger's card. Another pretty card. Love the color combo and how she used part of the petals to make the leaves!

This is mine. I love how the ribbon is done on this one. Have to say I got my idea from this talented lady on SCS here: Chrisations.ink
I love her card!

Tiffany Bauer's card. Another great card. Love the paper and the fold on this one.

Teresa Simpson's card. Beautiful card, I just can't get enough of this set! A nice winter card.

Leona Gher. A great card with a unique fold. Love the color combo and everything else about this one!

Inside of Leona's card.
So that's all of them. We had so much fun at Darla's making all these great cards. I am so glad I am in a group of very talented ladies! It was great to get togther with all of them! Can't wait till our next meeting!!!

Happy New Year and alot of catching up to do!

Here is the gift set I made for our hand stamped gift exchange at my upline's Christmas party that we had this past Friday night. I have the greatest and sweetest upline! That's right Darla Cummins you are the best! (even though you stole the gift I wanted) I forgive you. I ended up with Tiffany Bauer's gift that she made which was a really cute picture! and I'll try and post it later, she used the curly label punch to make it. Anyway here's so more pictures of my gift exchange.

Flip Flop Scrapbook using the Hawaii Papaya DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, and Chocolate Chip cardstock. I love these papers!!!

Inside of Flip Flop book. These are really fun and easy to make!

3 x 3 wooden box I altered with the DSP paper and a cute little ornament to go inside. I used the Kiwi Kiss reinker and some white acrylic paint to paint the box before I altered it with the DSP.
Another shot of the little box I altered.

Hey there bloggers, I am so sorry about being gone for so long. Yes I did get my Christmas cards done, all 87 of them! Since I last posted, Christmas, New Years and a Birthday of mine have all gone by. Notice how I slipped that last one in there. We have been doing inventory in little shop I work at (part time) in Palestine, IL for the last week and a half. We still count it all be hand, Willow Tree Angels, Boyd's Bears, Cherished Teddies and other little knick knackie things and I am soooo glad we are DONE!!!Now I've got time to get back to the important things like blogging and STAMPIN'!!! and I got a new Kodak EasyShare Camera for Christmas so please have patience with me while I'm figuring it out. But I love it! Now if I can just get DH to buy me a new printer/scanner/fax I'll be set. Catch you later!
